''Patients groan as doctors' strike persist'' Geneva convention is hardly respected in this part of the world
Comment: Although governemnt in Nigeria could be very difficult about salaries and allowances of their workers but the doctors too should look at the fact that they are the most favoured of all professionals in the health sector. A young doctor(sometimes less than 25 years of age)on graduation move to salary grade level 12 while others will have to start from grade level 8. The health sector is yet not better. It takes up to 15 or more years for those on grade 8 to get to 12. Doctors ought to consider this rather than go on strike at the risk of patients they are supposed to serve.
